Everyone loves to eat. Everyone needs to eat. However, eating everything is not always safe. Three years ago, my family and I went to a family gathering in New York. However, after eating what seemed like a normal snack bar, resulted in a very traumatizing emergency visit to the hospital. My little 6-year-old cousin experienced a very scary allergic reaction to certain nuts found in the snack bar. Once at the hospital, I remember seeing Jeremy in a state of heightened discomfort as he broke out in hives. Thankfully, after a few hours, Jeremy was feeling much better due to an effective ER team. However, my aunt and uncle were still kicking themselves for not being vigilant of what he was eating. Since then, my family and I have taken this as a learning experience.
