A big part of completing a capstone project in the Information Technology school in Fairchild Wheeler is making sure there are experienced people guiding the group with each step of the way. During Capstone II, we were instructed to reach out in our own school and outside community for mentors that would help according to what our project was about. Mentors are a great way in order to reach our full potential since that's what mentors are for since a good mentor breaks you out of your comfort zone (Lukas, 2013). We settled on contacting three Fairchild teachers, two doctors, and one nutritionist. However, just like other groups, we began running into trouble when potential mentors didn’t respond to our outreach SOWs (Statement of Work).
Luckily, all the three Fairchild teachers responded fairly quickly which granted us exquisite aid in the mobile application and website development. Things got even better when our nutritionist mentor replied with a confirmation. Since then she’s been reviewing our recipes and making sure we’ve been keeping the safety our users as the company's top priority. Our Capstone I teacher then decided to overlook parts of our nutritional aspects of the app. Ultimately, our app development journey has been led by a group of very experienced and grand experts in their fields of work.
